Rain Water Barrels

Who: Our empty, 55-gallon drums are available to Friends of Sun & Earth who want to build-their-own Rainwater Barrels. This is a great way to re-purpose our material containers!

What: The empty drum (along with other necessary accessories) is used to collect and store rainwater to reduce the need for fresh, clean, drinking water to soak your garden. NOTE: We do not clean these barrels. We do not sell accessories, but these cool places do:

How: The drum is typically placed at a rain downspout to harvest rain. This is a great, eco-smart project for DIY'rs. When raised off the ground, the rainwater barrel performs best because of its hose attachment. You can water just about anything in your yard!

Where: We do not ship these barrels. Friends are able to pick them up at our facility (221 King Manor Drive, King of Prussia, PA 19406). Please contact us 1-2 days before to let us know that you are coming.

When: Pick-up times are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  2. Hi!
I'm curious if these are food grade? You say that they're not cleaned, but what was in them? What does it take to clean them out?

Also, what is a "friend" of sun & earth and how do you become one?

    Thanks!
